What’s New at the Nest?

Public speaking is a challenging experience for most of us. Very few people are born with a natural desire to speak in front of a large group. Yet, it’s an incredibly useful skill in today’s world. In fact, there are many professions where it’s absolutely essential. What’s more, even if our job doesn’t require public speaking, life can surprise us with situations. Where we might be asked to give a speech at an important event, participate in an interview, or lead a training or presentation at work. So what can we do to avoid being paralyzed by stress in such moments? How can we tackle such challenges if we’re not natural-born speakers?

Public Speaking in Practice

The good news is that public speaking can be trained. Just talking about it in theory doesn’t help much. The key is to step out of your comfort zone, face uncertainty, and actually speak in front of others.

Stepping Out of the Comfort Zone

Students learning in a hybrid education model have this opportunity thanks to group sessions. At The Nest, we call them Inspirational Classes. In a small, very friendly group, it’s much easier to progress step by step toward becoming a confident public speaker. First, it might be speaking up during a discussion, then explaining a topic to classmates, and eventually standing in front of the group to give a talk while drawing a mind map.

Young people really value this opportunity and engage in it as much as they can. The sense of satisfaction from overcoming each new barrier is immense!

Education at the Nest

This is how we view education at the Nest. It’s not just encyclopedic knowledge — it’s above all a set of life skills. Many of these are hard to develop alone, which is why we offer group sessions. They help students build crucial competencies, boost their confidence, and prepare for future public speaking situations.
