Hybrid Education – A New Approach to Learning

Hybrid education combines traditional teaching methods with modern technologies, including online learning. This approach has gained significant popularity in recent years, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, when schools had to shift to remote learning. Hybrid education emerged as a response to the need for greater flexibility and adaptability in learning under different circumstances.

What is Hybrid Education?

Hybrid education is a model in which part of the classes take place traditionally in classrooms, and part is conducted remotely via the Internet. Students use educational platforms that provide access to materials, assignments, and tests anytime and anywhere. Thanks to this model, students can complete some of their lessons at school and the rest online using tools like Microsoft Teams or Google Classroom.

This can widen the gap in educational access.

When part of the learning happens remotely, without direct teacher supervision, some students may struggle with maintaining focus and consistency in their studies.
3. Teachers’ Competence – Teachers must have appropriate technological skills to effectively deliver hybrid classes. This not only requires knowledge of e-learning tools but also a shift in how lessons are planned and the ability to manage both in-person and online student groups.
4. Lack of Social Interaction – In traditional schools, students have daily contact with peers, which supports the development of social and emotional skills. In the hybrid model, some of these interactions are limited, which can affect relationships between students and teachers.

At The Nest, We Combine Hybrid and Home Education

Hybrid education is a model with great potential for the future. While it won’t completely replace traditional learning, it serves as an excellent complement to the education system. That’s why at the Centre for Home Education – The Nest, we’ve implemented hybrid classes: some take place in the Nest’s space in Kraków, while others are conducted online (e.g., Spanish classes with a native speaker from Colombia).

Distance Learning

Some students use Dziupla exclusively in remote form, which is convenient, especially for those living in neighboring voivodships. Online learning helps them save time on commuting, while still giving them access to consultations and group classes. During consultations, the teacher focuses solely on the needs of the individual student.

Additionally, we’ve created the Lectorium – a virtual library of educational materials that help students prepare for exams.
