Homeschooling at the Nest is all about nurturing relationships and community. It has become a tradition that Fridays at the Nest are a time for integration and socializing as part of our Centre for Home Education.
To unwind after an intense week of studying and preparing for the final exam session and high school graduation exams, we went bowling together.
But before we headed to the bowling alley, we played the game “Taboo” at the Nest, which brought us lots of laughter and put us in a competitive mood. Around noon, we moved our games to the lanes at Bowling House on Klimeckiego Street.
Instead of studying – bowling
Everyone can play – some better, some a bit… differently!
At the bowling alley, the competition got more intense, and the scoreboard was changing quickly. Some threw like pros, honing their technique, others played for the first time, and a few had their own unique style. But what mattered most was the great atmosphere and positive energy that stayed with us, even if someone didn’t score their dream points or make it to the podium.
International… Pancake Day?
On Tuesday, April 25, we celebrated an unplanned (for us) International Waffle Day.
There were no waffles, but the students made pancakes.
The idea was initiated by Ms. Ewa Kasińska – our history teacher – who brought all the ingredients and, even better, homemade jams!
The students quickly took over the frying pan, the pancakes disappeared in the blink of an eye, and during the meal we played icebreaker games to get to know each other better. It turns out that coming up with both true and false facts about yourself is not as easy as it sounds…
These kinds of gatherings, outings, and activities are the favorite part of being at the Nest. It’s become a tradition that on Fridays we play board games, have workshops, or go on trips to relax. A bit of fun, a break from school stuff, and a chance to get to know each other better – that’s an essential part of our community at the Nest. 🙂
